Thousands of Muslims and non-Muslims gathered in London, Ontario, to attend the funeral of a family that fell victim to a terrorist attack on Sunday evening June 6th 2021, leaving only a nine-year-old child as the sole survivor.
The only “fault” of this family was that they went for a leisurely walk in their peaceful city and unexpectedly encountered the racist terrorist (20 years old) who tragically struck them, resulting in the loss of four lives and leaving a child injured. Then the criminal fled from the scene of his crime and was arrested seven kilometers away …
May Allah have mercy on the victims and grant their loved ones and relatives patience on their affliction. We can only say: “Allah is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs.”
We stand in solidarity with the relatives of the victims and all our loved ones in the city of London, Ontario!
Unfortunately, these painful events have been repeated in Canada in recent years, and manifestations of Islamophobia and hatred have increased!! This incident reminds us of the cowardly attack on the Quebec mosque, which left 6 martyrs and several injured!! And the painful thing is that the criminal who confessed to his despicable act has not yet received the punishment he deserves, and some try to attribute the terrorist act to mental illness!
The overwhelming presence of people from diverse backgrounds at the funeral and the raised banners testify to Canada’s continued openness to all, despite the increasing rhetoric of racism from some extremists.
The funeral, organized by the London mosque, was attended by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, almost all party leaders, a wide spectrum of politicians, and all Canadian media outlets!
Simultaneously, a fundraising campaign was launched for the orphaned child and for charitable projects as an ongoing charity in memory of the family. At the family’s request, the Islamic Relief Organization in Canada will oversee the implementation of these projects! With Allah’s grace, over $1.2 million was raised in a single day.
