With the past year behind us and a new year underway, I am deeply grateful for a journey filled with purpose, growth, and tangible impact, personally, professionally, and in service to communities around the world.
Professionally, I was blessed to lead and support major humanitarian and development initiatives contributing to the strengthening of health systems in Sudan, Ethiopia, Syria, Kenya, Gaza, and Morocco. This work included the shipment of tens of containers of medical equipment and supplies, capacity building for health professionals, and the deployment of medical teams to deliver life-changing interventions such as cataract surgeries and cornea transplants, with each project designed to respond to local needs and contexts.
I also had the privilege of leading Volunteer Abroad experiences with hundreds of inspiring change-makers through the Inspire Program in Morocco, Bosnia, Türkiye, and South Africa, and launching our first Inspire Umrah trip for orphans and widows. This year marked important growth for Inspire Program with the launch of new initiatives and a major milestone: the program became accredited by a reputable UK-based institution as a recognized professional development program for youth and professionals.
Travel was a significant part of the journey this year, spanning 11 countries. I was grateful to add Mexico, Colombia, and Austria as new destinations along the way.
I deeply enjoyed collaborating with universities, teaching project management, delivering Sphere standards training for humanitarian professionals, and facilitating leadership and team-building activities for volunteers and staff. In parallel, I was honored to contribute to the development of programs supporting orphans and refugees in multiple parts of the world.
This week also marks the conclusion of my term with the Humanitarian Response Network of Canada, an experience I am truly proud of, working alongside distinguished humanitarian leaders to serve the humanitarian sector.
Above all, I thank Allah for His countless blessings, for good health, and for granting us another year to serve others. May the year ahead bring continued impact, humility, and meaningful service.
