On the International Day of Education

On this International Day of Education, I take a moment to celebrate the great educational journey that has shaped my life. I want to express heartfelt appreciation to my father, a dedicated teacher and mentor, whose commitment has inspired my own passion for education. Gratitude also extends to my mentors and teachers who played pivotal roles in my academic pursuits, leading to the accomplishment of a Ph.D.

As an Assistant Professor at various universities for over a decade, it has been a tremendous honor to teach, mentor, supervise, and guide thousands of students aspiring to become future leaders.

Transitioning into a humanitarian professional, I’ve had the privilege of overseeing significant global education projects. From the construction and rehabilitation of schools and canteens, provision of clean water, to capacity building for teachers, development of curriculums, and support for students through initiatives like school bags, psychosocial support, clubs, and awareness campaigns, each endeavor has aimed at fostering holistic growth.

On this International Education Day, my thoughts also turn to the resilient children of Gaza, Yemen, Sudan, Syria, and other conflict-affected regions, where accessing education remains an enormous challenge. Their schools have been destroyed, and their teachers and colleagues have faced unimaginable hardships. Despite these adversities, their determination serves as a powerful reminder of the critical importance of advocating for universal access to quality education.

On this occasion, let’s renew our commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of circumstance, has the opportunity to learn and thrive. Happy World Education Day to all!”
