Alhamdulillah for the successful completion of the 23rd volunteer trip organized by the INSPIRE International Program. This summer, over 40 volunteers from Canada and the United States, representing diverse segments of society including students, doctors, lawyers, business managers, engineers, and government officials, participated in this transformative trip in Turkiye. The INSPIRE project, an initiative of IR Canada, aims to enhance leadership and communication skills, raise awareness among North American youth about humanitarian issues globally, and cultivate changemakers and community leaders.
The program encompassed a wide range of educational, cultural, religious, and humanitarian activities, including leadership development workshops, dialogue sessions, and psychosocial support activities for orphans and refugees. During this trip, we had the privilege of serving hundreds of Uyghur, Syrian, and Turkish orphans through carefully curated educational activities that left a lasting impact on the children and their families.
This year, we were honored by the presence of Dr. Hany El Banna, a global humanitarian leader, shortly after he received the Humanitarian of the Year award in the UK and the release of a documentary film detailing his life and achievements in both Arabic and English. Dr. Hany enriched the program with his extensive experience and unique leadership qualities.
Alhamdulillah, this successful journey adds to the series of trips organized by INSPIRE, including 15 trips I’ve personally led in Malaysia, South Africa, Kenya, Bosnia, Turkey, and soon in Indonesia and Pakistan.
INSPIRE has been developed in collaboration with a group of experts in education, leadership, and non-formal education management, specialized in managing volunteer organizations and international programs. Since its inception, over 350 enthusiastic and compassionate young volunteers have participated in the program, making it the number one destination for Canadian youth interested in humanitarian issues in a short period.
We pray to Allah to grant us further success in developing the program to accommodate a larger number of interested youth and to provide comprehensive support and training opportunities after international volunteer trips.
As I depart from Munich airport, filled with gratitude for the experiences and connections made, I look forward to continuing my journey of service and leadership development with revitalized enthusiasm and dedication.
