As I reflect on this day last year, I’m filled with pride for the important achievement made in humanitarian diplomacy in Canada. Exactly a year ago, I had the privilege of attending a pivotal meeting in Ottawa, where Canada announced an amendment to the Anti-Crime Act. This change, driven by advocacy efforts spearheaded by organizations like World Vision, Islamic Relief, and the Canadian Red Cross, allowed international humanitarian organizations to send vital aid to Afghanistan. It’s a testament to Canada’s commitment to compassion and solidarity. Additionally,I had side conversations with the Ministers of International Development and Public Safety regarding sector-related issues! The meeting was also an opportunity to network with friends and directors of major humanitarian organizations in Canada!
